2. General information on data processing

This website uses no cookies and creates no user profiles. For audience measurement we rely solely on the cookieless Cloudflare Web Analytics (see section 4). Beyond that, personal data is only processed if you actively submit it to us (contact form or email).

3. Hosting (Cloudflare Pages)

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) via the “Cloudflare Pages” service. When you visit the website, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page requested, user agent) in order to deliver the website and to ensure the security and stability of the service. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing the website securely and efficiently). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; a data processing agreement is in place with Cloudflare. Further information: Cloudflare privacy policy.

4. Web analytics (Cloudflare)

To measure the reach of this website we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service by Cloudflare, Inc. The service works without cookies, without fingerprinting and without storing identifiers in your browser; individual users are not tracked across websites. Only aggregated metrics such as page views, referrers and load times are collected. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in audience measurement without intruding on visitors’ privacy). Further information: Cloudflare privacy policy.

5. Fonts

All fonts used on this website are self-hosted. No connection is made to servers of Google or any other font provider.

6. Contact form

You can get in touch via the contact form on this website. The data you enter (name, email address, topic, message) is processed solely to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Every request goes to Velten Schneider’s team; depending on the topic you choose, it is additionally forwarded to the responsible party: sponsorship and speaker requests to the marketing partner (34motion), race requests to the race management (Wings for Athletes). For the technical dispatch we use the service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA); messages are sent via the service’s EU region (Ireland). Where data is transferred to the USA in the process, the transfer is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or EU standard contractual clauses. You receive an automatic confirmation of receipt. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for handling your request.

7. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, the data transmitted (email address, content of the message) is processed solely to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and deleted as soon as it is no longer required. The mailboxes are hosted by Strato AG (Berlin, Germany).

8. External links

This website links to external profiles (e.g. Instagram, Strava, LinkedIn, World Athletics, Wikipedia). When you click such a link you leave this website; the privacy policy of the respective provider applies. Content from these services is not embedded on this website.

9. Local storage

The 404 error page contains a small browser game. Your high score is stored exclusively locally in your browser (localStorage) and is never transmitted to us or to third parties. You can delete this entry at any time via your browser settings.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing (Art. 21). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).
